A good sized family vehicle. It is equipped with enough comfort features to ease the user through a long journey. The strong two litre diesel engine has plenty of torque and happily eats motorway miles. A few downsides to ownership do exist. There is ample road noise at higher speeds and the ride is quite hard. The fuel economy is very good and second hand prices are low. If you can find one with a full service history you will certainly have a reliable workhorse, all be it not a fast one.
The interior is well designed and comfortable. A digital on board computer, air conditioning and C.D player / radio come as standard. The front seats have the added use of arm rests which perhaps is not required whilst driving, but quite a useful extra when stationary. Combine this with the added luxury of a huge loadspace in the rear and the Peugeot 406 LX is indeed suitable for every aspect of family life.
